Mount Arrowsmith is an iconic hike and climb in mid Vancouver Island. It can be seen from the water, the highway driving by or any of the surrounding peaks. It's steap ridges turn into snowy and icy climbs during the winter.
Access is on good logging road. Road is well-maintained but has some potholes. A couple of steep road sections right before the Judges route parking area. 4x4 recommended but not required.

Directions to Trailhead:
Following Highway 4 towards Port Alberni, there is a logging road that heads south (left side of the road) just after the brake check and summit of the hump. Turn down this logging road. Turn left on Cameron River Main after about 3km. After about 10km look for a road that heads up to the left just after a sign that says Mount Arrowsmith on a tree on the right side of the road. You will head up to Mount Arrowsmith. Drive for another 3km looking for the fifth road on your right. Look for the flagging here. Drive down this road and park if you have a 4x4, if not there is a parking area 30 metres up the main road.
