Westwood Lake Contest Update 1

This is an update on the post about the Westwood Lake Contest.

I hope everyone has headed up to Westwood Lake already and footed it (ran and/or walked) and recorded their times.  Don’t worry about how fast everyone else is going, they don’t matter. Try not to go too slow for your first round either, you’re trying to get faster and fitter by the end of the summer. By going slow now you will only cheat yourself. I’m NOT going to give a prize to someone who crawled around it the first time and then sprinted the last just to make a faster time(if you actually went from crawling to sprinting in the span of the summer, then you should win a prize!).

I just wanted to let everyone know there are a couple of good runs at the end of the summer, one in Nanaimo and one in Victoria. The Harbour City Half Marathon is on September 13th. There is also a 10k option for those not up for the half marathon yet. Sign up before July 1st and save some money on the registration. The Royal Victoria Marathon is on October 11th. There is a half marathon and an 8k road race happening the same day. Register before July 15 and you’ll save some money.  I will be running in the half marathon of both of them so hopefully I’ll see you out at one of the races!
